How’s the Market…..well here in Jacksonville NC, we have a Buyer’s Market.  Lots of homes on the market, in every price range.  The problem with that is that Sellers here have to compete with New Construction homes as well as existing homes.  Gone are the days of just putting a sign in the yard and multiple offers in the same day.  That was not normal and that bubble has burst.

Our market has shifted back to where it always used to be, the Buyer’s Market.  While other areas may be experiencing the home inventory shrinking, we are not.  And we have some of the most affordable housing, still.  That is mainly because our typical buyer is a young military family.  They are usually just looking for their first home, getting ready to start their family.  The median price for homes sold here in Onslow County with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms is $154,900.  In the last 6 months there have been 478 of these homes sold.  So, while times may be a little more difficult, they are definitely not terrible.  Mortgage rates remain low, as long as potential buyers have a good credit score and no derogatory credit, they should be able to qualify for a mortgage.
